WOITO

1)   Hans or Johann  WOITO Sr., 56, landlord

2)    2nd wife: Christine Marie RICHTER, 44,  &  family

3)   Louise WOITO, 10, who later married John LEHMANN from the Drachhausen area.

4)   August, WOITO, 19, married Freidericka Keunecke

5)   Wilhelm WOITO, 15,

6)   Johann, WOITO, Jr., 8

These were the parents & siblings of August & Martin, (see 1865). Both WOITO & Christine RICHTER were originally from DREWITZ, a few miles SE of Drachhausen, but they were living in TAUER. They join son Martin in PEMBROKE, ONTARIO, CANADA.

They farmed near PEMBROKE, ONTARIO, CANADA where a railroad spurline stopped to pick up logs. It is now known as WOITO, ONTARIO, CANADA

The three oldest children, Martin, August and Wilhelm were from Hans WOITO’S first marriage; their mother was Catherine HANSCHKE of

DREWITZ.

Son August seems to have gone to Canada in 1865, when he is 15, returned to the family in Germany & then returns with them to Canada.

Later in 1869, August WOITO, migrates again, from CANADA to STATE CENTER, IOWA. Within 3 years he meets and marries Friedricka Keunecke & they raise their 5 children in the area.

NOTE that this is the first RICHTER connection.
