Immigrating, arriving 23 Jun 1883 "Werra" from Bremen, New Castle, New York.

 

1. Max C. HERRMUTH, 22, a shoemaker, from PEITZ, Brandenburg, Germany          

He had been born 2 Dec 1860, in PIETZ, Brandenburg, Germany                     

         

He Married ½ Wend, Katherine Hannah HALBASCH, in March of 1887, in FORT MADISON, IOWA. She was the grandchild of immigrant Martin HALBASCH, and daughter of Martin Phillip HALBASCH who had immigrated in1856, from DREHNAU, a smaller village near Drachhausen. Katherine had been born in FRANKLIN, LEE COUNTY, IOWA, 3 July 1868. They had 4 children while living in the LEE COUNTY IOWA:

1.     Pearl Pauline, 28 Feb 1890, VIELE, married Frank Britton

2.     Dora Gertrude, 11 Dec 1893, DONALDSON, married Walter Davis

3.     Otto, 1896

4.     Esther Margaret, 18 Oct 1898, DONALDSON, married Clinton Myers

                  

Max C. HERRMUTH died 1 Nov 1915 in OTIS, KANSAS, where he is also buried. Katherine Hannah HALBASCH died, on 8 Mar 1903 in BISON, KANSAS, but was returned to St. Peter’s Presbyterian Cemetery, FRANKLIN, LEE COUNTY, IOWA
