They left Hamburg, Germany 4 June 1868 on the “Cimbria” & Arrived 30 June 1868, into New York City Harbor, with about 900 people on board, brought not only the 5 BUBNERS, but also the following Wends, from DRACHHAUSEN & SIELOW:

 

1) Martin HARNASCH, 39, Laborer, of Drachhausen

2)   Wife: Maria CHITTAN HARNASCH, 34

3)   Daughter, Marie HARNASCH, 6

4)   Son, Gottfried HARNASCH, 11 months

5)   Cousin, Gottfried HARNASCH, 53

6)   Martin BARTEL, 29

7)    Wife: Louise JURK BARTEL, 23

8)    Johann NOAK, 29, SIELOW, (south of Drachhausen)

9)    Christian KONZACH, 29, of Drachhausen

10)  Martin LOBEDA, 24, b. 1844, of SIELOW, born in Drachhausen, goes to Fort Madison, IA, USA

 

Martin BARTEL settled & lived out his life with Louise in Fort Madison, Iowa. They had at least 2 daughters; one was Hannah “Emma” BARTEL, born about 1871 in Ft Madison who married Matthes KULLOWATZ, of Drachhausen.  Louise died 1 Nov 1900 and Martin died 21 Nov 1911.
