SCHERGUNG

On the ship the Barbarossa, leaving from Bremen Germany on 4 April 1903, and arriving on April 16, 1903 in New York City, a lone passenger, Friedrich SCHERGUNG travels from the village of Drachhausen. He was born 27 Nov 1876, to parents Christian SCHERGUNG and Liese HALBASCH.

1)   Friedrich SCHERGUNG, 26, farmer

His declared destination is to find his friend Mathias DOMANN in STATE CENTER, IOWA.

This Matthias DOMANN may be a twin born 17 Jul 1875, to Martin DOMANN Sr. and Liese MEHLISCH. He is the nephew of Martin MEHLISCH Sr, so may have come to STATE CENTER with Martin’s help, and then invited his friend Schergung to join him, they are nearly the same age.

Neither of these men, or their descendents are found in Iowa records, to date.
