PUCKISCH

also spelled

(BUCKISCH)

1)    Christian BUCKISCH, 28, farmer, of Drachhausen

Son of Matthes PUCKISCH  and Anna GOSCHMANN, of Drachhausen. He was likely going first to stay with his Aunt Liese PUCKISCH MUSCHICK, who had immigrated 10 years earlier, in 1857, to FORT MADISON, IA. thus creating a place to start for the GOSCHMANN family.

The “P” and the “B” sound virtually the same in Old German, so PUCKISCH AND BUCKISCH are the same family.
